Background: Kier Anthelm was raised among the fading monasteries near the northern marches of Middenmark, where the old songs of saints and kings are still whispered beside cold hearthfires. As a youth, he copied fragments of pre-Futurus chronicles salvaged from ruined abbeys and plague-haunted keeps. His wandering studies eventually led him into the wild roads of the Northern Reaches, where he now seeks forbidden histories tied to the Soul Fungus, the ruined Helvecians, and the forgotten dead beneath the Barrowmoor.

Though welcomed in many halls for his learning and calm demeanor, Kier’s habit of uncovering uncomfortable truths has earned him wary looks from priests, bannermen, and nobles alike. He believes memory itself is sacred—and that buried truths inevitably return.
